Cannon O'Yarge (キャノン＝オ＝ヤージ Kyanon O Yāji)[1] or known as Cannon Man in the North American manual[2], is a minor character that appears for the first and only time in the Super Nintendo title Sparkster (SNES).
Appearance[]
Cannon O'Yarge is a stout, sunglasses-wearing opossum in a red shirt and pink flowered shorts. He has a large, bushy, white moustache, as well as tall, white hair. He wears light-purple fingerless gloves, and toeless socks. On his feet are a pair of wooden sandals. He is missing many teeth, and has a bandage over his navel. He wields a large matchstick, which he uses to light his titular cannon.
Personality[]
From what little is shown of him it can be assumed that O'Yarge fits the "crazy old man" archetype. He is used for a quick moment of comic relief, as when he goes to light the cannon, his match fails to light at first. It can be assumed that he is prone to accidents, due to the bandage on his belly button, and his lack of teeth.
History[]
Cannon O'Yarge only appears briefly at the beginning of the game's seventh stage, giving Sparkster an upgrade to his Rocket Pack to allow him to fly in space, as well as lighting his cannon to launch him.
