The Fleagle Robot (unofficial name) is the fourth boss from Rocket Knight Adventures.

Details[]

This boss appears as a tall pig robot. It is controlled by Captain Fleagle and is fought inside the Flying Battleship.

As Sparkster enters the room, Captain Fleagle is seen running off to the right side of the ship, where soon the Fleagle Robot crashes inside through the roof. The robot starts by making two stomps, one at a time, with three chunks of debris (each stomp) falling from the roof close to its position. It then shakes violently, causing much debris to further fall from the ceiling. The bot will soon slow down and lower its arms, before raising them back up in a T-pose fashion. It then will expose its weak spot to fire five large energy balls, one at a time, before finishing with an additional spread of smaller energy balls. The player can attack the core with rocket boosts while the robot fires these energy balls, timing the rocket boost so as pass through one. Sparkster cannot be hurt by the balls if he is standing on the ground, and if Sparkster is at the leftmost corner of the room, the smaller balls will not reach him due to a gap in-between the spread. After the spread, the boss closes the weak spot and frantically shakes once more, repeating its pattern.

Once the robot is destroyed, the player now has to fight an angry Captain Fleagle, who will run around the screen and jump whenever Sparkster fires at him. A couple of hits will finish him for good.

Trivia[]

  • Captain Fleagle can be seen controlling the Fleagle Robot via motion command. As the robot does its frantic shaking movement, the Captain is seen shaking around. When the captain is tired, the robot lowers its arms before its t-pose. Captain Fleagle is idle when the Fleagle robot's energy balls are launched.
  • During the Fleagle Robot fight, an invisible barrier prevents Sparkster from reaching Captain Fleagle directly despite the Captain being invincible during this phase of the fight. This barrier is most likely in place to prevent sheltering behind the Fleagle Robot.
