The Lava Fish (unofficial name) is the third boss from Rocket Knight Adventures.

This boss appears as a giant fish robot and is fought at the end of Stage 3. It appears on one side of the screen and begins swallowing the platforms. The player must navigate across the platforms as they move towards the boss to avoid damage from the boss' body. Once it stops swallowing, all remaining platforms fall down into the lava below while a new set of platforms fall from the top of the screen to transition into the next phase of the boss' cycle. These new platforms will remain stationary.
The boss will appear in the middle of the screen, between the platforms, and begin spitting projectiles in a wide spread pattern that covers nearly all floor space. In addition to damaging projectiles, the boss will also spit few bananas which the player can use to replenish health. After three quick cycles of releasing projectiles, a red Pig Soldier will briefly jump from the boss's mouth. Attacking this Pig Soldier is the only way to deal damage to the boss.
After the Pig Soldier retreats the boss will repeat its pattern, appearing at the opposite side of the screen.
